An exploration of identity and expectations specifically dealing with women. I use anonymous 19th century tintypes of women which I appropriate and alter. Each woman is named from commonly used names of the 19th century; thus giving them an a personal identity. My interest is inspired by a need to represent the restrictive parameters put upon women who are forced to fit into prescribed societal beliefs.
